As a certified coach and a recently carded dressage judge, Ellen has a strong desire to share the enjoyment of participating in the sport of dressage and is available for lessons, clinics and judging.
Ellen started riding at the age of 12 in Fredericton, N.B. with an interest in eventing that became more and more focused on dressage. While studying pharmacy at Dalhousie University, Ellen continued her training with Level III dressage coach Susan Fraser. During her time with Susan she was a member of the gold medal Atlantic Coast Games dressage team.
Several years ago Ellen moved from the Maritimes to train with Armand and Birgit Valkenborg. Since that time Ellen has competed successfully to Advanced level dressage (Prix St. Georges, Intermediaire I).
Ellen continues to train, attend clinics and symposiums, working towards her ultimate goal of riding Grand Prix.
